Speech Team Wins Great Eastern Seaboard Tournament

The Carroll Community College Speech Team competed against 11 other colleges and universities in the Great Eastern Seaboard College Forensics Tournament held at Brookdale Community College, in Lincroft, New Jersey, April 23 and 24, 2004. When the "team sweepstakes"— results were tallied, Carroll Community College came in first place, to end its season on a winning note.

Team members won awards in a variety of formats, including impromptu speaking and interpretation events, which are expressive readings of literature, using a manuscript. Individual awards won at the Great Eastern Seaboard Tournament were:

This team victory followed earlier success at the Carroll Community College/Morgan State University Freestate Spring Fling Tournament on March 19 and 20, 2004. In this event, the CCC Speech Team won a collective 20 awards and placed second among the six colleges and universities that competed. Individual awards were as follows:

In the Pentathalon competition, students must participate in five or more events to be eligible. Results from their best five events are tallied to determine winners.
