College Staff Nears 500; Majority are Part-time

Carroll Community College employs nearly 500 people, according to the college's official employee data file submitted to the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). Two-thirds of the employees are teaching faculty.

As of the official reporting date, the college had 152 full-time and 344 part-time employees. Faculty comprised the largest employee group. The faculty total of 344 included 45 full-time credit teaching faculty, 3 full-time faculty librarians, 118 adjunct credit faculty, and 178 continuing education faculty.

Supporting the faculty are administrative, professional, and support staff including clerical and physical plant employees. Analysis completed during the college's Middle States self-study found that Carroll had fewer administrative, professional, and support staff than peer colleges of similar size.
