Private donations to the college’s Foundation enable many students to pursue their academic and career aspirations. Rachael Mason, a nursing student at Carroll, shares her appreciation in the letter below for a scholarship supported by donors Mr. Harry and Ms. Patricia Dasch.

Dear Mr. and Ms. Dasch,

Iwould like to sincerely thank you for your support of the Elsie Herl Memorial Scholarship. Generosity and kindness like yours help students reach their educational goals at Carroll Community College, as well as provide a wonderful incentive to achieve at the highest levels academically.

Iam a returning student in my first year of study in the nursing (RN) program at Carroll. After a career in Human Resources, I was a stay-at-home mom for several years to my four-and six-year-old daughters while I completed my pre-requisite coursework. I have found all of my courses at Carroll to be extremely rewarding and my instructors have been superior. They continuously foster a sense of pride in learning and challenge students with the highest of standards so that we will be equipped for challenges in the healthcare world upon graduation.

Thanks to the Elsie Herl Memorial Scholarship, I will be able to continue on in the nursing program and excel in my courses and clinical work. Please know that your support is very much appreciated and I will work hard to uphold the excellent quality and reputation that Carroll’s nursing program has established.
