Now that the beginning of a new semester is behind us, I hope you are settling in to what promises to be a productive and enjoyable fall term.

This issue of Today includes stories of developments which hold much promise. The feature story about our new Cybersecurity Program demonstrates the college’s efforts to contribute to a more secure digital environment by preparing skilled cybersecurity professional to meet growing demand in Maryland.

The stories about our Nursing Department illustrate how faculty are integrating research and new technology into the program. The CPR training study and the tracheostomy simulator expose our students to evidence-based medical practice and strengthen the curriculum.

Finally, this issue includes a listing of my strategic initiatives for FY 2016. The strategic initiatives will serve as a guide for planning in your respective departments and offices, and as a barometer for marking progress on the college’s Compass 2020 five-year priorities. Implementing these initiatives holds much promise for the future of Carroll and our students. Thank you for your role in making Carroll one of the finest community colleges in the state. I look forward to great things from faculty and staff in the coming year.
