A total of 3,216 students were enrolled in credit classes as of the official Fall 2006 census date, a 3.2 percent increase from last fall. This is the highest fall credit enrollment in the college’s 14-year history. Enrollment of full-time students was up 8.6 percent.
“I believe our exceptional increase in enrollment this fall is testimony to the emphasis we place on teaching and learning,” said college president Dr. Faye Pappalardo. “Many Carroll County citizens can attest to the fine education and services that our students receive, and therefore, make the choice to attend Carroll Community College.”
Full-time-equivalent (FTE) enrollment, used by the state for determining part of the college’s funding, increased 5.2 percent. FTEs are based on the total student hours generated by student course enrollments. While headcount indicates the number of different individuals taking classes in a given time period, full-time-equivalents provide a better picture of total enrollment activity.
