Recent Institutional Research Reports

The college’s office of institutional research has published the following reports this year:

Community College Survey of Student Engagement

(September 2004). Reports selected findings from the April 2004 administration of this nationally-normed survey at Carroll Community College, with an emphasis on survey findings pertinent to the college’s Strategic Plan.

Performance of Intermediate Algebra Students in College-level Mathematics Courses

(November 2004). Examines the relationship between grades in MAT-099 and grades in subsequent college-level math courses, specifically MATH-115 (Introduction to Statistical Methods) and MATH-120 (Introduction to College Mathematics).

Comparative County Support Analysis for Fiscal Year 2004

(December 2004). Updates the analysis of county support of community colleges in Maryland, reporting on three measures: local aid per FTE student, local aid as a percent of college revenue, and community college aid as a percent of county operating expenditures.

Enrollment Projections for Facilities Planning

(January 2005). Provides projections of credit, noncredit, and total FTEs through fiscal year 2013, and fall credit headcount through fall 2013. Analyzes the latest June 2004 projections produced by Maryland Higher Education Commission staff.

Forecasted Need for Additional Classrooms

(February 2005). Applying the latest Maryland Higher Education Commission enrollment forecasts for Carroll Community College to a discipline-based, course sections forecasting tool developed by institutional research, the report suggests the number of additional instructional spaces the college will need by 2013.

Credit Class Size Analysis

(February 2005). Presents data on class size by discipline and delivery format for fall terms from 2001 through 2004.

Sykesville Center Enrollment Analysis

(February 2005). Presents credit and noncredit enrollment data, an analysis of promotional efforts, and results of a survey of Sykesville Center students in fall 2004.
