Eighteen completers of the college's Veterinary Assistant training program were recognized at an April 23, 2012 ceremony. Students were awarded a Certificate of Achievement in Veterinary Assistant Training. The program, now in its 15th year, consists of 150 hours of training, including a 54-hour supervised clinical practicum.
The program was established to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary for an entry-level position in a veterinary hospital.
Clinical sites that helped to make this year's program a success included Academy Animal Hospital; Airpark Animal Hospital; Antrim Veterinary Hospital; Carroll County Veterinary Clinic; Country Veterinary Hospital; Eldersburg Veterinary Hospital; Emmitsburg Veterinary Hospital; Hunt Valley Animal Hospital; Liberty Animal Clinic; Mt. Airy Veterinary Hospital; Prettyboy Veterinary Hospital; Taylorsville Veterinary Clinic; and The Sykesville Veterinary Clinic.
