College Website Recognized Among Nation’s Best

Carroll Community College’s website has been named among the top six higher education websites in the nation by the Center for Digital Education, which has announced its 2005 Best of the Web contest winners. The college’s website, www.carrollcc.edu, was selected from 100 applicants in higher education, including community and four-year colleges. Contest criteria included website innovation, web-based delivery of public services, efficiency, economy, and functionality.

“I am delighted that Carroll’s website has received this national honor,” said college president Dr. Faye Pappalardo. “I wish to extend my sincerest thanks and gratitude to our staff and administration who work so diligently to maintain a state-of-the art web presence. I am proud of the work that they do.”

Judges measured website appearance, navigability, help features, and functionality. “Carroll Community College’s website stood out in the help and functionality areas, due to help offered on every page. The website has a nice online library, and students are able to pay tuition online,” said Meg Mason, operations manager at the Center for Digital Education.

In addition to conducting its annual competitions, the Center for Digital Education provides market intelligence programs, advisory services, research, and custom publishing services to educational institutions at the elementary, secondary, and higher education levels.
