Thank You, Dr. Pappalardo!

After 15 years as President of Carroll Community College, Dr. Faye Pappalardo has left a lasting impression upon students and graduates of the college, who share their reflections of appreciation here.

Brittany Hill, current student: Thank you, Dr. Pappalardo, for being so welcoming. You have personally invited me into your office because you always have an open door. We have talked about a lot of things, and you have motivated me to become a better person.

Daveed Sumpter, current student: Thank you, Dr. Pappalardo, for being a great leader and role model! You are also a great communicator, especially when you address students. You have truly been the face of the college. You have inspired me to do well in society and to work on behalf of others.

Anna Cook (Class of 2013): Thank you, Dr. Pappalardo, for your wonderful leadership style. I really enjoy the fact that you always show your appreciation to faculty, staff and students at the college. You deserve special appreciation in return from all of us!

Karlie Pickett (Class of 2013): Dr. Pappalardo, I really appreciate your approachability because I always felt that I could talk with you. I like your warm and caring attitude. Thank you for your sense of humor, as well.

Children at the College Child Development Center: Dr. Pappalardo, thank you for always coming to our spring tea party. You drink pink lemonade instead of tea. And you are the boss of the college.

Service-Learning Club Students: We have decided to adopt a space this year in the Westminster Community Garden to help feed the users of the campus Food Locker and low-income families in the community. Dr. Pappalardo, we are starting this project in honor of you because you have inspired us to offer service to the community. Please accept our small token of appreciation when we name this project “Plants for Pappalardo.” Thank you for everything!

Kristie Crumley, director of student life: Dr. Pappalardo, thank you for always putting the students first. Your positivity about the potential of our students to become leaders in the community is felt throughout the college. Your support of our students becoming involved in service in our community has helped to underscore the importance of civic engagement for a lifetime. Our students leave this college as educated citizens due to your dedication to providing a holistic approach to student development.
