Trustees Approve New Mission Statement

At their meeting on June 20, 2018, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new Mission Statement for Carroll Community College. College President Dr. James D. Ball presented the proposed new statement for their approval for submission to the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

In February, Dr. Ball appointed an 11-person Mission Review Committee representing all areas of the college and including a student representative. The committee was charged with reviewing the college’s mission in advance of preparation of the college’s next five-year strategic plan, Compass 2025, and prior to the college’s Self Study for reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The committee involved the campus community in its deliberations, with drafts circulated to all employees. Committee chair Rob Brown took early and final drafts to the Academic Council, College Senate, and Planning Advisory Council, while committee member Dr. Kristie Crumley shared drafts with the Student Government Organization.
