The launch of the fall semester signals a renewed commitment by faculty and staff to support student success. I truly appreciate your dedication in providing an education that greatly enhances the professional and personal growth of our students.

This year the college had to complete a Periodic Review Report (PRR) for submission to our accrediting body, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The PRR was due five years after the decennial self-study and evaluation team visit.

The response from the readers who reviewed Carroll’s PRR was quite positive. Although the readers provided some thoughtful suggestions, they made five commendations recognizing strengths of the college.

I cannot overstate how proud I am of this college, and of everyone who contributed to the preparation of the PRR. The process, though sometimes cumbersome and trying, illustrated the power of collaboration at its finest.

The report presented a comprehensive snapshot of our progress in compliance with MSCHE’s standards of excellence. And what’s more, we showed how we exceed expectations and craft solutions to the contemporary challenges community colleges face.

I also extend my personal gratitude to each employee who works hard every day to bring the college mission to fruition on behalf of our students. Since the college was established in 1993 with its own Board of Trustees, a total of 118,499 individuals have taken a credit or non-credit course at Carroll. Thank you for your continued efforts to bring higher education to so many individuals and businesses. And as always, I wish you a wonderful fall semester!
