On Friday, Aug. 5, participants in the college’s Summer Kids@Carroll and Teen College were acknowledged for their donations to the campus Food Locker, a source of food for students and employees in need. Coordinator Cassandra Casey promised the campers, who donated more than 1,000 pounds of food, that every time they reached a weekly goal, a staff member would do something memorable to thank them. In recognition of the campers’ generosity, Casey offered to have 12 inches of her hair cut off to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Pantene makes wigs with the donations for the American Cancer Society. “I am amazed at the generosity of the campers and their families. I am proud that they gave so much food to our Food Locker. I recognized their generous spirit and donated my hair to support women who have lost their hair to cancer,” said Casey.
