“Barrage” to Entertain at
Starry Night December 10th

Starry Night, Carroll County’s upscale holiday
kick-off event to benefit the Carroll Community
College Foundation, will be held on Thursday,
Dec. 10, 2009. The college’s Babylon Great Hall will be
transformed into a magical setting of great food and a
gathering of friends, followed by a high-energy music
and dance performance by “Barrage.”

Proceeds from Starry Night support student scholarships
at the college. Rachael Mason, a mother of
two and scholarship recipient, is preparing for a
career as a nurse. “I have found all my courses at
Carroll to be extremely rewarding and my instructors
have been superior,” said Mason. “They continuously
foster a sense of pride in learning and challenge students
with the highest of standards, so that we will be
well equipped for the challenges in the health care
world upon graduation,” she said. “Thanks to my
scholarship, I will be able to continue in the nursing
program and excel in my courses and clinical work.”

The first Starry Night, held in 2006, featured the
Moscow Symphony Orchestra. The attendees in 2007
enjoyed a performance by Marvin Hamlisch. The Las
Vegas show, The Rat Pack is Back!, entertained guests
in 2008.

Starry Night sponsorships are available at
various levels for individuals and organizations wishing
to support the event. Individual tickets are also
available for purchase. For more information, call
410-386-8155.
