I am most fortunate in my position as President of Carroll Community College to meet and talk with students from all academic and professional backgrounds. Some of the most gratifying experiences I encounter as President are when I learn about the success stories and achievements of our students and graduates.

In this issue of Today, we collected stories and photos of students who have achieved and excelled in their chosen fields of study.

The stories about students Daniel Hooper and Lauren Bahnsen illustrate how student success can come early in a student’s academic career. Daniel is a Cybersecurity student who was successful at obtaining a job in the field while continuing to pursue a degree. His ambition and hard work are commendable. Lauren has already become familiar with college course work as a concurrent student and plans to transfer to a four-year college.

The photos of our Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant students are heartwarming, indeed. The pride that shows on the faces of these graduates—who will soon embark on life as career professionals—is just one of the reasons we devote ourselves to higher education.

Finally, this issue contains important information about the Penguin Random House Book Fair, registration for Summer!Kids@Carroll and Teen College, and free tax preparation assistance provided by our trained volunteer students.

Have a wonderful spring semester and please continue sharing the inspiring student stories that you hear about each day!
