Periodically, the college’s Institutional Research Office surveys students to solicit their views of the college. The latest student satisfaction survey was conducted in spring 2007. With the cooperation of college faculty, the surveys were administered in selected class sections during March and April.
In general, student ratings of college services were uniformly high. The following were top-rated by students, with each having a mean rating of four or above on the five-point rating scale:
- Library services
- Campus buildings and maintenance
- Admissions
- College websites—both carrollcc.edu and Blackboard
- Attitude of faculty and staff toward students
- The registration process
- Access to computers outside of class
- College publications
- The Testing Center
- Quality of instruction
Institutional Research will be administering the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) in spring 2008, the next opportunity for the college to gain systematic feedback from our credit students. These surveys are a key component of the college’s institutional assessment efforts. The IR staff appreciates the support of faculty and others in the administration of these surveys.
