Public Safety and Security Officers Participate in Special Olympics Torch Run

On June 3, 2015, law enforcement officers representing agencies throughout Carroll County took part in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maryland. They escorted and protected the Special Olympics “Flame of Hope” as it made its way toward the opening of the 45th Annual Summer Games at Towson University from June 5 through June 7, 2015.

The Carroll Community College Office of Public Safety and Security participated in the event. Several members of the office ran, including Assistant Chief Ann Wright (with her husband Jeff), Security Officer Stan Proudlock, Security Officer Mark Tausen, Security Officer Adam Reid, and Administrative Assistant Brenda Black. The college sponsored Special Olympics athlete Ralph Gemmill, who also ran in the event. College Chief of Public Safety and Security Wayne Livesay presented a plaque and college t-shirt to the college-sponsored athlete at the ending ceremony at Westminster City Hall.
