On May 23rd the college celebrated its 14th Commencement, held at McDaniel College. Graduates of the Class of 2007 included students who completed degrees the past August, December, and May. The graduating class is larger than the number participating in the ceremony, as not all choose to or are able to attend.
Three-fourths of the May graduates completed programs designed for transfer to baccalaureate institutions. A fourth had completed career programs, with nursing—with 43 graduates—the most popular.
According to a survey completed by graduates at the time of application for graduation, over 40 percent indicated they planned to transfer to a four-year college or university immediately as a full-time student. The most popular transfer destination was Towson University.
When asked if they expected to be employed upon completion of their degrees at Carroll, 36 percent of respondents said yes, in jobs related to their majors at Carroll. Two-thirds of these workers said they would be working in Carroll County after graduation.
When asked how they felt about the overall quality of instruction at Carroll, 97 percent of the graduates gave a rating of “good or very good.”
College president Dr. Faye Pappalardo and commencement speaker Dr. John Carty lead the Board of Trustees in procession at the graduation ceremony on May 23, 2007.
