The Science Department hosted a Solar Eclipse Party on Monday August 21, on the outside balcony of the A building. Former Astronomy Professor Jerry Schubert provided his telescope, with the proper filters, for viewing the partial eclipse which was at its maximum at 2:42 p.m. A home-made viewing device plus solar glasses were also provided for enjoying and photographing the eclipse. Many thanks to Dr. Sithy Maharoof, coordinator of Physical Sciences and faculty advisor to the STEM Club, for organizing the event. And, as Sciences Chair Dr. Raza Khan put it, “a special shout-out to the moon for successfully photobombing the sun!”
