Full-time-equivalent (FTE) enrollment, the way the
state measures student attendance for official recordkeeping and
funding, increased over 14 percent in the fiscal year ending June
30, 2001 compared to the year before. Due largely to the new, 17-week,
entry-level police academies, noncredit enrollment increased 31
percent. Degree-credit enrollment was up nine percent.
