|
By Diana Scott
Steve Geppi has joined the faculty as
the coordinator of the Criminal Justice program. He will oversee
adjunct faculty, develop the curriculum, market the program to police
departments, and teach. This fall he is teaching Introduction
to the Criminal Justice System and Criminology.
"I've never had so much fun as I have
had in the short time I have been at Carroll," says Mr. Geppi. "I
am sharing 24 years of experience in the Maryland State Police with
students who really want to learn. Many have expressed desires to
become criminal profilers and forensic scientists as well as traditional
law enforcement officers."
His goal is to develop the program so
that when people think of enrolling in a criminal justice program,
they'll think of Carroll.
Mr. Geppi retired in 1997 with the
rank of major after 24 years with the Maryland State Police. His
career included time as a road patrol trooper, patrol and shift
supervisor, instructor, and chief executive officer for daily operations.
He retired as commander of the South West Central Region of the
Bureau of Drug and Criminal Enforcement, that covers 13 counties
plus Baltimore City.
He earned his undergraduate degree at
the University of Baltimore and an M.A. from Towson University.
He resides in Finksburg.
