Bollinger Elected Board Chair

The Carroll Community College Board of Trustees elected David Bollinger as the new Board Chair at its meeting on November 14. Bollinger succeeds former chair Michael Mason, whose term on the Board has expired.

Bollinger is vice-president of Barnes-Bollinger Insurance Services, Inc. The company specializes in business, personal, life, health, and other related insurance services. He first joined the Board in 2001.

"I am delighted to welcome our new Chair," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo. "He brings much experience in the business community to the position and has a true understanding of the mission of community colleges."

"I am impressed with the value and quality of the education at Carroll," said Bollinger. "The college affords students the opportunity to learn, become educated, and work in this community, if they choose to. The college is a well-run operation, thanks to a wonderful president, administration, faculty, and staff" he said.

Bollinger added that he will encourage the members of the Board to continue to actively support college activities, events, and initiatives.

The Board consists of seven members who are appointed by the Governor of Maryland. Officers include a chair, vice-chair and secretary-treasurer. Members represent a range of educational, economic and professional backgrounds.
