Sherri-Le Bream Appointed to Board of Trustees

Sherri-Le Bream has been appointed to the Carroll Community College Board of Trustees by Governor Lawrence J. Hogan, Jr. She attended her first Board meeting in August 2015. Ms. Bream is well-known as a public educator, having completed a 39-year career as a teacher and administrator and having provided exemplary service on several local, state and national advisory boards.

“I am extremely pleased to welcome Sherri-Le Bream to Carroll’s Board of Trustees,” said College President Dr. James D. Ball. “Ms. Bream is a wonderful addition to the Board of Trustees. She is an individual of the highest caliber who possesses extraordinary experience and knowledge. I have no doubt that she will serve with distinction on our Board and I greatly look forward to working with her in the coming years.”

“I am honored to join the Board of Trustees for Carroll and look forward to the opportunity to serve my community in this new position. I am eager to apply my knowledge and experiences as we work to provide quality educational opportunities for our citizens,” said Ms. Bream.

Ms. Bream most recently served as Director of High Schools for the Carroll County Public Schools. She held this position from 2006 through 2014. Prior to this she was a high school principal, assistant principal, a science department chair and teacher. Her leadership and professional activities include planning and opening new high schools, and working as content coach for the Maryland State Department of Education for career pathways, learning communities, advisory programs and high school improvement.

The newest Board member was named “Woman of the Year” by the Carroll County Woman’s Fair and was recognized by the Maryland State Department of Education and Citigroup as a “Principal of a Leading-edge High School.”

Ms. Bream holds a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and a Master of Arts from the University of California at Humboldt.
