Summer Camps

Summer! Kids@Carroll and Teen College, Carroll’s youth summer camp program, is right around the corner. Now in its ninth year, the popular summer program has grown from 500 registrations in 2004 to over 1,800 in 2012. Its success, according to Sally Long, senior director of Lifelong Learning and Program Support Systems, “is due to the enrichment experience in a camp-like environment; high quality instruction; well-trained staff and quality assurance; well-planned processes and organization; and, of course, we don’t skimp on the fun.”

Summer! Kids@Carroll and Teen College serve youth ages four to 15. The college’s Child Development Center provides camps for children ages four and five. Summer!Kids@Carroll focuses on youth ages five to 11 and Teen College serves teens age 12 to 15.

New this year are camps to help scouts earn badges. Staff will be on hand all summer to provide the required outlines for the Girl Scouts or to sign the Blue Card for Boy Scouts. A chart showing which camps meet some or all of specific badge requirements is available at carrollcc.edu/summerkids.

Also new for the 2013 summer camp season are more camps for five-year-olds, expanded STEM-related programs and over 60 new camps overall. From ancient civilization to Lego’s, cooking to Harry Potter, and engineering to fashion, kids and teens will find something to inspire and motivate.

For a quick overview of the Summer !Kids@Carroll/Teen College program, watch the video and view the entire schedule of camps at carrollcc.edu/summerkids. The weekly camps are offered from June 24 through August 9, 2013. Registration is now underway online or by calling 410-386-8100.
