Students Transfer to 300 Different Colleges
and Universities

An analysis of students who transferred from Carroll Community College during the past five years to continue their studies found that they had enrolled at 300 different colleges and universities. The most frequent destinations for pursuing the bachelor’s degree were Towson University, McDaniel College, UMBC, Villa Julie College, Salisbury University, and the University of Maryland at College Park. The most popular destination, Towson, accounted for 13 percent of the transfers.

The most popular out-of-state destination was York College of Pennsylvania, although former Carroll students enrolled at institutions from Harvard to the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Carroll admissions materials assert that students, with proper advising, may begin their baccalaureate programs regardless of destination and these data suggest this is true for at least 300 transfer institutions.
