The college’s “I am—become who you are” general awareness marketing campaign, launched July 2006, was recognized for two awards by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations at its March 2007 conference in San Diego.
The overall campaign won a Bronze Paragon Award in the “successful recruitment marketing program” category. The campaign featured student and alumni photos and testimonials, and included billboards, a television commercial, print advertising, web banners, orientation materials, and class schedule designs. All materials were produced in-house under the direction of graphic designer Peter Anania.
A four-color magazine advertisement featuring music major Jamie Lippy won a Silver Paragon in the print advertisement, single, category.
The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is affiliated with the American Association of Community Colleges and is the only organization exclusively for marketing and PR professionals at associate-level colleges. NCMPR has over 1,500 members representing more than 600 colleges in the U.S. and Canada.
The college had won five Paragon awards prior to this year: a bronze for our newsletter in 1999, a silver for logo design in 2002, a silver for our viewbook in 2002, a gold in the poster category in 2003, and a gold in the brochure category in 2004.
This advertisement was judged second best nationally among community college print ads.
