With the dawn of the year 2010, we welcome a new decade of providing quality instruction to our dedicated students at Carroll Community College. I look forward to the decade ahead as a time of growth, success, and fulfillment.

The new decade also causes me to be reflective about our previous accomplishments. The year 2009 offered many fine examples of achievements by our college faculty, staff, and students.

This special recognition issue of Today offers a window on how, collectively, we provide strong academic and personal growth opportunities to our students. As you read the story "The Year in Review," you may see why our college has gained an outstanding reputation among members of the community and our colleagues at other institutions.

Accomplishments from 2009 include awards and accolades for every area of the college: Academic and Student Affairs; Administration; Continuing Education and Training; Planning, Marketing and Assessment; and the Foundation. I am sure you will enjoy reading about the many exemplary things our students did last year, as well.

I am exceedingly proud to be the president of Carroll Community College. County residents and business representatives frequently tell me as I attend meetings throughout the community that our college is the "gem of the county." Our college serves the diverse needs of people from all walks of life, which positively affects our county in many wonderful ways.

President
