New Classroom
Building Opens

The college celebrated the opening of its newest building with a Dedication Ceremony on January 15, 2010.

The ceremonies began in the Theater in the Scott Center with several speakers, including State Senator Larry Haines, County Commissioner Julia Gouge, Board of Trustees Chairperson Barbara Biller, College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo, and Student Government Organization president Caitlin MacGregor. Attendees then toured the new classroom building and enjoyed a reception in the cafeteria seating area of the new building.

The classroom building includes English and math classrooms, chemistry and forensics labs, a computer graphics lab, faculty and staff offices, Academic Community and co-curricular space, a new cafeteria, the Child Development Center, and a multi-room conferencing center. The building is 80,000 gross square feet.

The state and county paid the building cost of approximately $32 million. The architects were Grimm and Parker, and the general contractor was C.E.R., Inc. of Baltimore. Groundbreaking took place April 17, 2008.
