Dr. Pappalardo Named Chair of Carroll Scouting Advisory Committee

Carroll Community College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo has been named chair of the Carroll Scouting Advisory Committee. In this position, she provides leadership to guide the committee in helping meet scouting goals in Carroll County.

Advisory Committee members include Ethan Draddy, Scout Executive and CEO, Baltimore Area Council, Boys Scouts of America; Maryland State Senator Joe Getty; Carroll County Superintendent of Schools Stephen Guthrie; Ron Harrington, owner, Protectron, Inc. and co-president of the Carroll Technology Council; County Commissioner Doug Howard; John Sernulka, president and CEO, Carroll Hospital Center; Barry Williams, director of Baltimore County Parks and Recreation, and chairman of the board for the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America; and John Yingling, president, Crawford Insurance.

"Dr. Pappalardo is a caring and charismatic leader for all of Maryland and for Carroll County, in particular," said Draddy. "She personifies the Scout Oath and Scout Law in her life, and wants those qualities for this generation of young people. Her ideas to help find thoughtful solutions to the issues facing our community are refreshing."

The Boy Scouts of America, Baltimore Area Council, serves more than 51,000 youth and registered leaders in central Maryland, including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties, plus Baltimore city.
