Starting in 2002, college president Dr. Faye Pappalardo has presented one graduating student the President's Award for Academic Excellence. The student must have demonstrated outstanding academic performance with a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 through a minimum of 45 credits. Students are nominated by the faculty and faculty recommendations are considered in determining the recipient.
The award includes funding from the president intended as a scholarship for the student's continuing education.
This year's recipient of the President's Award for Academic Excellence was Mary-Patricia DeNardis. She plans to transfer to the University of Maryland's School of Nursing.
