Graduate Receives Prestigious USM Scholarship

Carroll Community College 2015 graduate Andrew Spangler received an Associate of Arts, Arts and Sciences degree in General Engineering at Carroll. He will transfer to the University of Maryland College Park with a full Transfer Academic Excellence Scholarship.

This scholarship granted by the University System of Maryland (USM) is available to outstanding students transferring from Maryland community colleges. It is a merit award and covers tuition for a maximum of four consecutive undergraduate semesters.

Spangler earned al cumulative grade point average of 4.0 while working 30 hours per week for an off-campus employer. He also received the L. Ronald Sturm Scholar Business Award for academic excellence in Personal Finance and Microeconomics. He is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
