President Announces Strategic Initiatives for Next Two Years
College president Dr. Faye Pappalardo.

College president Dr. Faye Pappalardo has announced the college’s Strategic Initiatives for fiscal years 2005 and 2006. The president’s initiatives, which were endorsed by the Board of Trustees, constitute the major goals of the college’s Strategic Plan. They guide area annual planning and are used to justify new budget requests. The seven initiatives for FY2005 and FY2006 are as follows:

I. Expand partnerships with the Carroll County Public Schools, the Office of Economic Development, and new businesses in Carroll County.

II. Develop and implement a Student Transfer Office to provide information and assistance to students seeking to continue their education at four-year institutions.

III. Institutionalize assessment into areas of the college that have not formalized an assessment process.

IV. Provide leadership and support for the continuance and progress of Academic Communities.

V. Incorporate the concepts of diversity and global awareness within the college so that the entire college community is aware and engaged in the process.

VI. Fully implement the Nursing Program and assure adequate resources for the future success of the college’s allied health and nursing programs.

VII. Continue the Executive Awareness sessions for the major gifts campaign and begin the external campaign to raise $4 million.

The Planning Advisory Council, at its first meeting in September, approved 40 new task statements for addition to the Strategic Plan. The tasks were proposed by the vice presidents as actions their areas will take to support accomplishment of the president’s initiatives. The Strategic Plan is available on the college intranet.
