Official third week enrollment at Carroll Community College set records for both headcount and full-time-equivalent enrollment in Fall 2004. Headcount increased two percent from last fall to reach a record high of 3,073 students. Enrollment of full-time students increased 4.3 percent, while part-time enrollment edged up 0.3 percent. Due to the increase in full-time students, the average credit hour load increased from 8.92 to 9.06 hours per student.
Full-time-equivalent (FTE) enrollment, based on the course hours taken by full- and part-time students, exceeded 900 for the first time. The fall 2004 total of 928 FTEs was a 3.6 percent increase from fall 2003. FTEs eligible for state funding—primarily excluding out-of-state students, employees and their dependents—also exceeded 900:
