On Monday, July 26th, Carroll Community College introduced a new, completely redesigned website.
The new site was the result of a year-long process of development and testing. The Web Standards Committee, composed of representatives from across the campus, provided input into the new design. It has many new features and incorporates lessons learned from the previous site and from user testing. It has better compatibility and standards compliance for use with contemporary browsers, and text can be re-sized for comfortable reading on PDAs. The site resides in an automated content management system for faster updates, easier editing, and more thorough proofreading. A new search engine provides faster and more accurate results.
Navigation is streamlined to provide ready access to the most frequently used parts of the site. Drop-down menus, the Search box, and Quick Links to Blackboard, the events calendar, and the library are available on every page. WebAdvisor functions are easily found on the appropriate pages, and are also available under the “Support Services” menu on the home page.
The totally redesigned home page features announcements of priority programs and events on campus, fully integrating the website into the college’s marketing mix for the first time.
Kudos to the IT Web Administration Team and the Web Standards Committee for our terrific new site. See for yourself at www.carrollcc.edu.
