For the past seven years, theatre students at Carroll have participated in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. This year’s event was held from January 12 to 16 in Westchester, Pa.
Part of this prestigious experience is that educators from other institutions attend plays held at the college’s theater throughout the year, to provide feedback on those performances. As a result of such feedback, four Carroll students were recognized for their superior work.
Alex Beverage and Josh Hopkins were cited for assistant directing last fall’s production of Reasons to be Pretty and Reasons to be Happy by Neil Labute. Meredith Faid was recognized for set design, and Amanda Reandeau was recognized for stage management.
In addition, eight Carroll students were chosen to participate in the Irene Ryan Scholarship Competition. This accomplishment recognizes excellence in acting.
“I am proud of the recognition our students received,” said Director of Production and Theatre Management Seth Schwartz. “Such acknowledgement reinforces the good work students are already doing as serious theatre artists.”
