Foundation Member John Yingling Receives Award

John Yingling, chair of the development committee of the Carroll Community College Foundation board of directors, received the “Distinguished Volunteer Award” from the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Western Maryland Chapter. The organization presented awards to nineteen honorees from our region at a Recognition Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015.

The Foundation board’s development committee is charged with developing strategies to support Foundation initiatives and philanthropic giving.

“I have had a long-term relationship with the college. It is a wonderful asset to this community and I am very proud to be a part of it,” said Yingling.

“John Yingling is quite deserving of this award,” said college President Dr. James D. Ball. “He is an example of someone who is a visionary and an ardent supporter of Foundation efforts to make higher education possible for countless students.”

“John Yingling is an incredible volunteer, an unwavering advocate, and an ardent supporter of the college in every way,” said Executive Director of the Foundation Steve Wantz. “He is a respected leader, setting the example through selfless giving of time, talent and treasure whose efforts have impacted the lives of students and members of our community.”

Yingling is the president of Crawford Yingling Insurance in Westminster.
