You Can Afford to Attend Carroll!

The personal attention and quality education you’ll receive at Carroll, the beautiful campus, the small classes, the state-of-the-market technology, and the variety of co-curricular activities may lead you to think Carroll Community College is more expensive than it is. As a community college partly funded by the county and the state, Carroll can offer The Better Freshman Year at a surprisingly affordable price. A year at Carroll is half the cost of a year at a University of Maryland campus, and a fourth the cost of a private college. Nevertheless, many students need financial aid to attend and Carroll is committed to doing all it can to help eligible students with tuition expenses.

Federal financial assistance programs available at Carroll include Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, and Work Study opportunities. The state of Maryland sponsors numerous scholarship and grant programs to aid students attending the community college. These include Guaranteed Access Grants, Senatorial and House of Delegates scholarships, Distinguished Scholar awards, Science and Technology scholarships, Educational Assistance Grants, Part-time Student grants, Child Care Provider Program grants, and the Maryland Teacher Program for students agreeing to teach in Maryland schools.

In addition to federal and state financial assistance programs, the college offers over 30 institutional scholarships supported by private funds from individuals, corporations, and local community organizations. Contact the college’s Financial Aid office at 410-386-8437 for information about all the types of aid available to help you afford college.
