Speech Team Starts Year with Awards

Three new members of the Carroll Community College Speech Team won awards at this year's first competition, held September 27th at Bloomsburg University.

Dawn Cherie White took second place in persuasive speaking for her speech on the dangers of diet pills. Jessica Henry earned a third place trophy for after dinner speaking for her speech on the need to regain a day in the week for leisure. Jessica also won a certificate of superior performance for her poetry interpretation. Karie Warfield won a fifth place trophy in prose interpretation.

The Speech Team attended its first national competition last year and won awards. Congratulations to these winning ambassadors for CCC!

Fall Headcount Up Nearly 9 Percent

Credit headcount at Carroll Community College exceeded 3,000 for the first time this fall. The record enrollment of 3,012 was 8.9 percent higher than last fall, with both full-time and part-time students increasing in number. Total full-time-equivalent enrollment increased 6.9 percent.
