India Revisited, on exhibit
in the Langdon Gallery, is a photo essay by faculty members Maggie
Ball and Larry Fask, from their second journey to India. Their continued
interest in exploring India grew out of their common interest in
Eastern art and religion, cultural diversity, and social outreach.
"There is an indescribable and compelling force that seems to call
us back. Despite the arduous nature of travel in India, the effort
has always paid off in so many ways. One cannot experience the place
without being personally challenged and spiritually changed. The
din of a billion human beings moving rhythmically with cows, bulls,
camels and carts envelops and hypnotizes, pulling us along for the
noisy, crazy, thrilling ride."
"From the foothills of the Himalayan mountain range to the desert
vistas of Rajasthan, we connected with wonderful, welcoming people
Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Jains, so many smiles! Our
photographs reflect the faces and movements of daily life in rural
towns and villages where water buffalo sales and wedding processions
dot the landscape with nearly psychedelic color."
