Starry Night, Carroll County’s upscale holiday kick-off event, was held at the college the evening of December 11, 2008. Following a cocktail hour in the Great Hall, which had been transformed into a Las Vegas nightclub, a performance of The Rat Pack is Back! in the Scott Center elicited a standing ovation from the enthusiastic audience.

The Rat Pack is Back! is a spirited tribute which recreates a famous ‘Summit at the Sands’ hotel show. The original ‘Rat Pack’ included Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop. Written and produced by Sandy Hackett, son of legendary comedian Buddy Hackett, The Rat Pack is Back! offered vocal recreations, unbridled humor, and a live band.

“I am pleased that Carroll Community College was able to offer another fine evening of entertainment for Carroll Countians who wish to support the college,” said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo. “Starry Night has become a holiday tradition.”
