Now that we are well into the New Year, I look forward with much optimism and expectation that as a college and a community, we will accomplish the goals we set out to achieve.

When I think of some of the reasons why Carroll Community College carries the great reputation it does, I believe that the community plays a pivotal role in our success.

The community is extremely supportive of Carroll. Business and industry, local government, philanthropists, and committed volunteers regularly contribute to the fabric of this college. Without them, we could not provide all of the services and resources of which students avail themselves each semester.

Conversely, Carroll is a resource for the community. Our community impact is substantial. The college helps grow a trained and productive workforce. The college helps businesses keep their employees’ skills current. The college promotes the value of education, contributing to lifelong learning, cultural enrichment and responsible citizenship.

Two upcoming community-oriented activities, the “Penguin Random House Book Fair” and “Summer!Kids@Carroll and Teen College” illustrate how the college impacts individuals and families in a positive and nurturing manner.

I want to thank our faculty and staff for all that they do to help our college serve the community in such an impactful way. I believe that when local citizens think of a quality education, they think about Carroll, about its dedicated faculty and staff, and about its hard-working and successful students.
