Dr. Pappalardo Named Citizen of the Year by Westminster Rotary

Carroll Community College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo was named 2007 Citizen of the Year by the Rotary Club of Westminster at the organization’s meeting on Wednesday, November 7, 2007. Dr. Pappalardo was a surprised honoree as she had been invited to speak at the meeting held at Wakefield Valley Golf and Conference Center.

Rotarian James Lightner presented Dr. Pappalardo with her award. Among his remarks were the following:

“Faye, you are very busy doing what you do best—serving people and the community through your leadership at our growing community college. We are very proud to have you in our midst and are most appreciative of all your efforts on behalf of our community, especially for the local students who get a start at a college education in your burgeoning institution.

In true Rotary fashion, you rarely say ‘no’ to the many requests for your time and service, including accepting speaking engagements to talk about Carroll Community College, which we will hold you to, at a later date! Just like the old radio and TV show, ‘You are there.’ Tonight, for all that you do, in your quiet and dependable way, the Westminster Rotary Club wants to say thank you, and please keep up your good work.”
