Recent Institutional Research Reports

The following reports are available in the Institutional Research office (M-257) and on the network J drive under “IR Reports FY2008.”

Non-returning Student Transfer Rates,
Spring 2001–Spring 2005

(November 2006). Using National Student Clearinghouse data, transfer rates and destinations are reported for spring students who did not graduate and did not return the following fall. Students in the five cohorts studied transferred to 277 different institutions. Two-fifths had earned fewer than 15 hours at Carroll; a fifth had earned 15 to 29 hours; and the remaining two-fifths had earned 30 or more credits at Carroll prior to transfer.

Sykesville Center Enrollment Analysis, Fall 2004–Spring 2007

(February 2007). Enrollment at Sykesville is examined from its inception through FY2007. Credit and continuing education enrollment trends and student profiles are included. Findings from surveys of Sykesville students are reported. A detailed analysis of marketing activities and expenditures is included.

Annual Marketing Report, FY2006

(March 2007). Comprehensive analysis of marketing activities and expenditures during FY2006, including publications, advertising, direct mail, outreach, and community relations.

New Student Survey Findings

(August 2007). Reports views of 276 students surveyed during New Student Orientation in August 2007. Includes other colleges applied to, reasons for choosing Carroll, information sources used, and college goals.

Enrollment Projections for Capital Planning

(September 2007). Reviews June 2007 MHEC forecasts of Carroll’s enrollment through FY2016. Also reports Maryland Department of Planning projections of CCPS 12th grade enrollments through 2016.

Fall 2007 Credit Enrollment Report

(October 2007). Reports enrollment as of the census date, focusing on year-to-year changes in headcount, FTEs, and course enrollments. Includes data on developmental education needs and enrollment, student demographic patterns, high school market shares, and enrollments in online, hybrid, extension, and other flexible learning formats.

Part-time Student Tuition and Fees Analysis, 2007–08

(November 2007). Reports the cost to students of taking 7 credit hours (General Biology with lab and Introductory Psychology) at Maryland’s 16 community colleges. Costs ranged from $600 to $990, with Carroll falling in the middle at $755.
